Summer Begins: A Season of Growth and Excitement at Dreamers Walk Canada

As summer begins, all of us at Dreamers Walk Canada are excited to enter one of the busiest and most exciting seasons in our organization's history.

This summer marks several important milestones as we continue to grow our programs, strengthen our community, and create new opportunities for people of all abilities.

One of our biggest highlights is our first year participating in the Tim Hortons Dragon Boat Festival. Our team, the Dreamers Dragons, is proud to paddle with purpose, raising awareness and promoting inclusion while representing the Dreamers Walk Canada community.

Planning is also well underway for two of our signature events: Dream Fest 2026 and the Dream Walk 2026. These events will bring together families, community partners, volunteers, entertainers, and supporters for a day of celebration, accessibility, and community spirit.

This summer also marks the launch of several exciting new initiatives, including our expanded Community Programs. Under the leadership of our community programming team, we will be offering life skills programs, support groups, social activities, and opportunities for individuals with disabilities to connect and thrive.

In addition, we are preparing to launch the ACCESS Breakfast Series, a monthly town hall and community discussion focused on accessibility, inclusion, housing, recreation, employment, and other important topics affecting people with disabilities across our communities.

Summer is also a time to celebrate achievements. We would like to recognize three members of our leadership team who are graduating from high school this year:

• Justin Camarero, National Vice President of Operations

• Hana Sobhy, Volunteer Services Manager

• Louka Tetreault, National Administration Team

Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to Dreamers Walk Canada while balancing their studies have been truly inspiring. We congratulate them on this important milestone and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future.

This month is especially meaningful as Justin celebrates two years of service with Dreamers Walk Canada. From his early days supporting volunteer operations to serving as National Vice President of Operations, Justin has played a key role in helping build and strengthen our organization. His passion, hard work, and leadership have made a lasting impact, and we are grateful for everything he has contributed.

As we look ahead, we are excited for what the summer will bring. Whether through community programs, advocacy initiatives, fundraising events, or new partnerships, our mission remains the same: to create a world where people of all abilities are empowered to dream, participate, and succeed.
